"The public's response to World of Warcraft has been simply amazing," said Mike Morhaime, president of Blizzard Entertainment in a recent Press Release. And that is really an understatement. With over 200,000 (spread throughout a myriad of servers) Blizzard also broke the concurrent players record in a single game. World of Warcraft promises to become the single most wanted Massive Multiplayer Game.

Even though broad market appeal does not really describe a game's quality for every individual, Blizzard is known to do things right from the start. With 600,000 copies sold, "broad market appeal" is just another understatement, though.

Several features have already been introduced since the game's launch just over a month ago, and many more are planned for the lifetime of the game. In the near future, the promised Player-versus-Player (PvP) Battlegrounds, which will pit Alliance and Horde players against each other in a hotly-contested battlefield, as well as the PvP Reward System, will be revealed.

The EverQuest-killer has arrived, and it is not it's own sequel.
