Square-Enix has recently announced a new expansion for its wildly popular MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI. The expansion's title "Chains of Promathia" will be introducing many new things including two new areas, the official site has all the info as well as some beautiful screenshots of the new areas.

The official Final Fantasy XI site has a couple of new updates for the community. The first talks about the recent changes and additions made to the game in the last update, while the second update talks about the rules for the new Conflict Event, Ballista.

PlayOnline is proud to announce three new mail services, known collectively as PlayOnline Plus. We are now accepting applications to participate in the beta test, which begins today.
Character Name Address: You can now have up to five PlayOnline e-mail addresses based on the names of your characters. This service is currently available for FINAL FANTASY XI characters. Example: xxx@yyy.ffxi.pol.com (Here, "xxx" represents the name of your character and "yyy" represents the name of your world.)
Also introduced: Mail Fowarding and a Mail Filter. See the news post at playonline for more info on this and how to participate in the test.
