Interview with Jason

Nandini: You've mentioned that Reclamation will feature a ground-breaking combat system - instead of competing guilds, there are several houses you can join and fight for. Let's dive into the concept of houses a little.

How many Houses are actually available for the player to join?

Jason: There are eight great Houses of the Dream city.

Nandini: What are the benefits of taking over a House?

Jason: Each House has it’s own specific powers that arise from the ideology associated with the House. Each House has a Mission board, specific to that House. Furthermore, only Houses can lay claim to territory, which affords other powers. But perhaps the most exciting part of being part of a House, is being part of something bigger than you are, and the relations one will create. The Houses are integrated into the very environment, and are an ever present force in everything.

Nandini: If a player joins a house will they have defense bonus, or any other advantage over players that decided to stay independant?

Jason: House members will have many advantages over those of no House affiliation, Freespirits. As I alluded to above, each House will have its own flavor or character that will be reflected in particular powers only available to House members.

Nandini: Do Houses also have a law/government system and are players able to influence it?

Jason: The beauty of the House system is that it provides the power for the players to create the system they want for their House, which obviously allows a great amount of influence.

Nandini: Do Houses include economy and how is it affected by the players?

Jason: The question of economy in Reclamation is an interesting one. There is not just one system that defines the economy. If anything, I suppose it would be a barter-system, where information, and politics can be worth as much or more than items or arts. This economic "system" is a dynamic defined by the characters.

Nandini: Reclamation is clearly aimed at the Role-player type, just like your first game Underlight, but with a drift towards conflict - will pacificists feel unwelcome in Reclamation, or do you have advancement opportunities for those that decide against wielding a weapon?

Jason: Pacifism is a concept that is intriguing and we feel adds quite a bit to the environment. There are plenty of opportunities for this concept to foster, and in fact I’d say that a pacifist could become one of the most powerful dreamers in Reclamation.

Nandini: Are there any other things you'd like to mention about Reclamation?

Jason: If you enjoy role-playing or are in anyway intrigued by the concept, Reclamation is the place for you.

A crisp and to-the-point conclusion. We could not have said it better. Tired of the same old? Go create your own fantasy and role-play to your hearts content in Reclamation!
