After such an overwhelming winner, we present you the "Second Winner", which is all but the first loser in this case. By a similar large margin, thanks to the dedicated community of the game, Guild Wars has left behind three very strong competitors that went down under in the Most Anticipated Fantasy category.

Of course you can blame it on the fact that the two big players in this category, EverQuest II and World of Warcraft, have launched shortly after we have launched our polls and therefor did not get the attention they might have gotten with the launch being months away. We however do not blame it on anyone or anything, we congratulate the winner, and therefor Most Anticipated Game of 2004:

Most Anticipated Fantasy of 2004

Most Anticipated Massive Multiplayer Game of 2004

Guild Wars

Guild Wars has claimed the right to compete for this final award by winning the Most Anticipated Fantasy category with a total of 3821 votes (30.48%) leaving behind Dark & Light with an impressive total of 2772 votes (22.11%), World of Warcraft with 2941 votes (23.46%) and EverQuest II with only 820 votes (6.54%).

The final poll for the Most Anticipated Game was won by Guild Wars with 383 votes, 54.17% was the share of the pie of which only World of Warcraft was able to claim a significant other amount of 246 votes (34.79%).

Congratulations go to NCSoft, Arena.Net and of course the Guild Wars community that sure will bring this game forward in 2005. In the end, Guild Wars will be free of monthly subscriptions, so this result is but a little glimpse of the enormous following it will gain when launch day is coming closer.

Without further ado, we continue to the rest of the winners of all categories.
